I’m a bit late in contributing to this blog, due to a number of excuses that I won’t inflict upon you. Instead however I will inform you that I’ve been busy doing things and this being a music-orientated blog, my ‘doing things’ has been set to a soundtrack. Last year I re-established my passion for collecting vinyl, acquiring numerous Simon & Garfunkel, Genesis and ELP records. However as I start to write this blog, my stylus has ceased to function and I’m back to the land of the digital medium. Not all is lost though as the greatest hits of Bruce Springsteen has come to my aid. My fondness for ‘The Boss’ has existed for quite some years due to my mother’s delightful quirk of an obsession for him but I was finally sold and head over heels in love after his performance at the 43rd Super Bowl. The E-street band and he rollicked through a string of hits, including personal favourite ‘Tenth Avenue Freeze Out’ during their twelve minute intermission. Put simply, Bruce can still rock and I wait with no hidden eagerness that he is playing Hyde Park, London on June 28th. So I suggest that you dust off your mother’s copy of ‘Born to Run’, turn off the lights and have a bit of a dance… in the dark (sorry).
